JAN ERP V3.8 — Native Phone Push Notifications

This update adds real Web Push notifications to the installed JAN ERP PWA. Notifications can appear on the phone lock screen / notification center even when JAN ERP is not currently open.

Install
  1. Back up the site/database.
  2. Upload and extract the ZIP in /home2/doctorlabs/public_html/jan.doctorlabs.in and overwrite existing files.
  3. Login as Full Admin.
  4. Open https://jan.doctorlabs.in/upgrade_v3_8.php and run the upgrade.
  5. On every phone, open the installed JAN ERP app and tap Enable Alerts, then allow notifications.
  6. Use Send Test Notification or open push_status.php to confirm delivery.

Supported alerts

Existing ERP activity hooks now publish native phone alerts for new company orders, delivery challans, delivered orders, generated invoices, customer payments, agreements, approvals, purchases, investor activity where the login has permission, and Company Portal order/delivery reminders.

iPhone/iPad

Web Push works for JAN ERP after it is installed to the Home Screen on iOS/iPadOS 16.4 or newer. Open the installed Home Screen app and tap Enable Alerts; iOS requires that permission request to happen after a user tap.

Android

Android Chrome/PWA can subscribe directly after the user taps Enable Alerts. Each device must grant permission separately.

Troubleshooting

Full Admin can open push_status.php to see active subscribed devices, last sent time, HTTP response code, failures and recent push delivery logs.
